Wildlife Monitoring, Guatemala

Coral Maya Conservation uses remote camera traps to quietly witness the lives of wildlife moving through some of Guatemala’s most biodiverse ecosystems. These include cloud forests, dry forests, the Mayan jungle, and a variety of unique microclimates, many of which are found in unprotected areas. These motion-activated cameras are placed along natural animal corridors and pathways deep within the backcountry, allowing species to be documented day and night without human disturbance.

Through this work, the team is able to observe elusive wildlife behavior and better understand how animals move, coexist, and hunt within their habitats. Each image captured becomes both scientific data and a powerful story, revealing the hidden rhythms of the forest while reminding us how much life still thrives when ecosystems are protected.

By combining research with storytelling, Coral Maya Conservation brings these unseen moments into the human world, inspiring deeper awareness and a renewed commitment to protect the wildlife and forests that sustain our planet.
